چکیده

Abstract Background Baseline imbalances, skewed costs, the correlation between costs and effects, missing data are statistical challenges that often not adequately accounted for in analysis of cost-effectiveness data. This study aims to illustrate impact accounting these trial-based economic evaluations. Methods Data from two evaluations, REALISE HypoAware studies, were used. In total, 14 full analyses performed per study, which four evaluations taken into account step-by-step. Statistical approaches compared terms resulting cost effect differences, ICERs, probabilities cost-effectiveness. Results ICER ranged 636,744€/QALY 90,989€/QALY when ignoring all − 7502€/QALY 46,592€/QALY challenges, respectively. The intervention being cost-effective at 0€/ QALY gained 0.67 0.59 0.54 0.27 Conclusions Not baseline correlated may notably results. Therefore, conducting it is important align approach with identified To facilitate researchers handling software code provided.

Trial-Based Economic Evaluations in Occupational Health

To allocate available resources as efficiently as possible, decision makers need information on the relative economic merits of occupational health and safety (OHS) interventions. Economic evaluations can provide this information by comparing the costs and consequences of alternatives. Nevertheless, only a few of the studies that consider the effectiveness of OHS interventions take the extra st...

Primes Get Together

Mathematics has long been an important tool in infectious disease epidemiology. I will provide a brief overview of compartmental models, the dominant framework for modeling disease transmission, and then contact network epidemiology, a more powerful approach that applies bond percolation on random graphs to model the spread of infectious disease through heterogeneous populations. I will derive ...
